Henrik Sedin leaves game with upper-body injury

Henrik Sedin had to leave the game after taking a big hit from Brent Burns against the boards.

Henrik Sedin has left Saturday night’s game against the San Jose Sharks and will not return after suffering an upper-body injury.

Sedin was slammed into the boards by Sharks defenceman Brent Burns less than five minutes into the first period.

Play had to be called as the Vancouver Canucks captain was slow to get back on his feet.

Sedin has been remarkably durable during his 15-season NHL career, having never missed more than 12 games in a season since coming into the league in 2000.

The 35-year-old has already missed six games this year, though he’s still managed to notch 10 goals and 48 points. His 38 assists leads the Canucks.
