CALGARY — Canada’s most powerful amateur sports federation is re-structuring its leadership.
Hockey Canada has named four new vice-presidents to work under long-time president Bob Nicholson and chief operating officer Scott Smith.
Paul Carson of Victoria is vice-president of hockey development with Brad Pascall of Vancouver his counterpart in hockey operations/national teams. Scott Farley of Georgetown, Ont., now carries the title of vice-president of marketing and Glen McCurdie of Manotick, Ont., is vice-president of membership services.
Nicholson, who has been at the helm since 1998, sets the organization’s direction in consultation with the board of directors. Smith, from Bathurst, N.B., oversees day-to-day operations of Hockey Canada.
“I know that this new structure, along with the great staff that we have in place in all areas, will help Hockey Canada continue to lead in the development of hockey at all levels in Canada,” Nicholson said Friday in a statement.
Paul Delparte of Sudbury, Ont., rounds out Hockey Canada’s executive committee as chief financial officer. All seven are scheduled to attend the Molson Canadian World Hockey Summit in Toronto starting Monday.
