The Detroit Free Press reports former Red Wing Darren McCarty Wednesday dropped the last of a bevy of personal protection orders against a group of ex-friends in Oakland County Circuit Court.
McCarty and his wife Sheryl McCarty sought the orders in June, saying the former friends were threatening Darren McCarty because he would no longer party with them. They said some of the threats were made on Facebook.
The McCartys dropped three of the personal protection requests in June. Today, they agreed not to pursue an order against Tonya Juhl, a Greektown Casino worker who once dated McCarty.
Outside the courtroom, McCarty’s attorney, Paul Addis, said the harassment had stopped, and the Facebook messages had been removed, so there was no need to pursue the order. “But you never know what the future will hold,” Addis said.
