Sportsnet and APTN are partnering to produce the first-ever NHL game in Plains Cree when the Montreal Canadiens meet the Carolina Hurricanes on Rogers Hometown Hockey from Enoch Cree Nation at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT.

The landmark simulcast featuring exclusive Cree-language commentary and analysis will air on APTN – the first national Indigenous broadcaster in the world. Clarence Iron will provide the play-by-play call for APTN, while Juno Award-winning musician Earl Wood will host the broadcast’s studio show alongside NHL alumni and game analyst John Chabot.
