Humboldt community to hold vigil for Broncos on Sunday night

Ron MacLean and Don Cherry reflect on the tragedy touching Humboldt and remember the players on the Humboldt Broncos.

A vigil will be held in honour of the Humboldt Broncos hockey team Sunday as members of the community will gather to pay tribute to the victims of the tragic bus crash. The vigil will be held at the arena in Humboldt, Sask.

Humboldt Strong will air at 9:00 p.m. ET / 6:00 p.m. PT on Sportsnet West, Sportsnet Pacific and Sportsnet One.

Fifteen people were killed Friday when a tractor-trailer collided with the team bus at a Saskatchewan highway intersection. Support for the victims and their families has been pouring in and a GoFundMe account has been set up in the wake of the tragedy.

Police say the 14 who survived the crash have varying degrees of injury, some critical. The names of the dead and injured have not been released, but some have been confirmed by family members and others.

The players come from various towns and cities in Alberta and Saskatchewan while one, Matthieu Gomercic, hails from Winnipeg.
