The Carolina Hurricanes have activated goaltender Cam Ward from injured reserve, the team announced late Tuesday.
Ward, 31, was placed on IR on Jan. 20 with a concussion, and hasn’t played in the team’s last five games.
The team went 3-2-0 in Ward’s absence, with Eddie Lack earning two shutouts during that time — including Tuesday’s victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Ward is 14-11-5 this season, and was on a roll prior to his absence with the Hurricanes earning points in each of his last five appearances.
Carolina also reassigned forward Phil Di Giuseppe and netminder Daniel Altshuller to its AHL affialite Charlotte Checkers.
