Hurricanes’ Anton Forsberg awarded one-year contract in arbitration

Carolina Hurricanes goalie Anton Forsberg has been awarded a one-year, $775,000 contract by an independent arbitrator.

Forsberg and the Hurricanes had a hearing with the arbitrator on Sunday.

Forsberg, 26, had an 11-24-4 record with 3.21 goals-against average and .901 save percentage last season with the Chicago Blackhawks and Columbus Blue Jackets.

He was acquired by the Hurricanes in June in a trade with the Blackhawks.
