Hurricanes celebrate World Kindness Day with nicest Twitter thread ever

Wednesday is World Kindness Day, and the Carolina Hurricanes are celebrating by spreading a little love around the league.

The premise was simple — one kind tweet for each team in the NHL — and the result is, well, really quite nice. Here’s a roundup of some of the best tweets from the thread of kindness:

They even extended their kindness to the soon-to-be 32nd team over in Seattle:

If you check out the thread in its entirety, you’ll notice there’s one team missing: The Washington Capitals. And there’s a clever reason for that, too. Back in April, the Hurricanes eliminated the Capitals in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, a series that also featured some social media jabs.

So… as Carolina’s present-day Twitter bio states… they took Washington’s advice to heart.
