Carolina Hurricanes goalie James Reimer left Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs in the first period with a lower-body injury.
Reimer appeared shaken up after a collision with defenceman Jaccob Slavin, who’d been bumped into the goalie by Maple Leafs forward Zach Hyman.
After a brief pause, Reimer stayed in the game. But he was removed a few minutes later and skated only 6:10. Petr Mrazek, who allowed four goals the night before, replaced Reimer in the scoreless game.
Reimer, a former Maple Leaf, is 14-6-2 with a 2.67 goals-against average and .914 save percentage with Carolina this season.
