Hurricanes sign defenceman Trevor Carrick to one-year, two-way deal

The Carolina Hurricanes have signed defenceman Trevor Carrick to one-year, two-way contract worth $670,000 at the NHL level and $77,500 at the AHL level.

The 22-year-old tallied 16 points with four goals in 57 with the AHL Charlotte Checkers last season.

Carrick was set to become a restricted free agent before this move was made.
