The Carolina Hurricanes have signed forward Eetu Luostarinen to a three-year, entry-level contract. The contract will pay Luostarinen $750,000 for the 2019-20 season and $832,500 for the two seasons after that at the NHL level.
Luostarinen, 20, was a second-round pick by the Hurricanes in 2017. In 54 games with KalPa in Finland’s Liiga, he scored 15 goals and 36 points. He also appeared in four games for the gold-medal winning Finland at the 2019 world championships.
“Eetu has already played three professional seasons in Finland and managed to increase his production every year,” said Hurricanes GM Don Waddell in a press release. “We’re excited to see what he can bring to our organization.”
