“That’s a clown costume, bro.” – what Bryce Harper would say about Justin Williams’ Halloween outfit… probably.

The Carolina Hurricanes are having fun this season both on and off the ice.

They’re enjoying themselves on the ice because they’re actually winning games and off to their best start to a season since the lockout-shortened 2012-13 campaign. They even have a new end-of-game tradition following wins the team’s fan base has embraced with open, Skol-clapping arms.

The on-ice success has led to a looser team off the ice. Justin Williams has been a catalyst for his club’s new attitude and the Hurricanes captain was in the Halloween spirit this week.

Williams decided to scare some of his teammates and the cameras were rolling to capture some of the reactions.

Goalies Curtis McElhinney and Petr Mrazek, defencemen Dougie Hamilton and Trevor van Riemsdyk, plus forwards Teuvo Teravainen, Warren Foegele and Micheal Ferland were among Williams’ victims.

Hamilton flipped Williams the bird but the best reactions were probably from Foegele and Ferland, who genuinely seemed startled.
