The New York Islanders have placed veteran forward Andrew Ladd on waivers.
Ladd, 33, hasn’t played an NHL game since March 24 and has been recovering from off-season surgery for a torn ACL. He recently completed a conditioning assignment with AHL Bridgeport and will report back there if he clears waivers, general manager Lou Lamoriello said.
The Islanders signed Ladd to a seven-year, $38.5-million contract in the summer of 2016 but he has yet to live up to his $5.5-million cap hit.
In 177 games with the Islanders, the former Winnipeg Jets captain has 38 goals and 71 points. He has one goal in five games with Bridgeport this season.
