The New York Islanders have recalled forward Josh Ho-Sang from the AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
Ho-Sang has skated in 26 AHL games this season, scoring two goals and adding 20 assists.
The 22-year-old former first-round pick has appeared in 43 career NHL games, netting six goals to go along with 16 assists.
Ho-Sang has been a polarizing figure to this point in his career. After failing to make the Islanders out of training camp this fall, the winger said he believed the team “had their minds made up” about sending him to the AHL. He also expressed frustration over a lack of late-season call-up last year.
Goaltender Christopher Gibson was loaned to Bridgeport to clear a roster spot for Ho-Sang.
