Ivan Provorov had a monster outing for the Philadelphia Flyers Friday night in a Game 5 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins but his status for Sunday afternoon’s Game 6 is up in the air.
The 21-year-old blueliner crashed into the boards after tripping over Penguins defenceman Brian Dumoulin with less than 90 seconds remaining in the Flyers’ 4-2 victory.
It’s unclear what might be ailing Provorov, and the Flyers provided a “no update” to reporters Saturday.
Provorov has two assists in five post-season games this year and leads his team by logging 25:44 of ice-time per game. He was on the ice for 30:07 in Game 5 and added six hits and two blocked shots.
The Flyers are down 3-2 in the series, hoping to stave off elimination. Having Provorov in the lineup would certainly be a boon to their chances of extending the series.
