Jaromir Jagr passes Gordie Howe for third in all-time points

Watch as Jaromir Jagr continues his ascension up the NHL career points list.

Jaromir Jagr is now in sole possession of third place on the NHL’s the all-time points list.

Jagr’s assist on Aleksander Barkov‘s first period goal against the Boston Bruins Monday night was career point no. 1,851, passing Gordie Howe’s longstanding record.

The point almost didn’t count, as the goal was challenged. After a lengthy review, it was allowed, getting the Florida Panthers on the board. (Watch the play at the top of this post.)

The play jump-started a Panthers rally, but the Bruins would eventually win 5-4 in overtime.

The 44-year-old winger now has 743 goals and 1,108 assists in 1,612 career NHL games. He has registered 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 points in 62 games this season.
