The Los Angeles Kings’ chances of clinching a playoff spot just got a little better.
According to Sportsnet’s John Shannon, forward Jeff Carter, who was expected to miss the rest of the regular season due to an ankle injury, is now listed as day-to-day.
An MRI on the star forward’s ankle revealed no fracture.
Carter suffered the injury during Wednesday’s 3-0 win over the Calgary Flames. The 27-year-old from London, Ont., was reportedly seen on Friday in Edmonton wearing a walking boot.
The Los Angeles Kings acquired Carter from the Columbus Blue Jackets prior to the trade deadline on Feb. 23 for Jack Johnson and a conditional first-round draft pick.
Los Angeles is currently in third place in the Western Conference with 91 points and three games remaining. The Kings host the Edmonton Oilers on Monday night.
Good news for LAK. Carter MRI shows no fracture. Listed as day to day.
