The Winnipeg Jets re-assigned Connor Hellebuyck to the AHL’s Manitoba Moose, the team announced Friday.
The talented rookie netminder is 13-11-1 with a 2.34 goals-against average, .918 save percentage and two shutouts. The 22-year-old is on a two-way contract so he did not have to clear waivers.
Hellebuyck’s demotion is a response to Ondrej Pavelec being taken off injured reserve. Pavelec hasn’t played since Nov. 21 after being injured in a game against the Arizona Coyotes. Pavelec went 5-6-1 with a 2.82 GAA and .906 save percentage prior to his injury. Michael Hutchinson is the other Jets goalie on the active roster.
