Winnipeg Jets centre Andrew Copp is considered week-to-week with an upper-body injury and will not play before Christmas, head coach Paul Maurice told reporters Wednesday.
Copp left Tuesday night’s game against Carolina in the second period after throwing a hit on Hurricanes winger Jordan Staal.
Maurice said that Copp is still undergoing tests, but confirmed that he will not be ready to play again until after the Christmas break.
He also confirmed that the injury is not concussion-related.
The Jets 2013 fourth-round pick has five goals and 14 points in 34 games this season, on pace for career-highs in both categories.
