Winnipeg Jets' Jacob Trouba lays a big hit on Calgary Flames' Marek Hrivik and then had to immediately deal with Hrivik's teammate Garnet Hathaway who thought the hit was high.

Jacob Trouba received a match penalty for an illegal hit to the head in the Winnipeg Jets‘ 5-2 win over the Calgary Flames in pre-season action on Monday.

Trouba connected with Flames forward Marek Hrivik early in the third period, moments after Hrivik had just moved the puck. (Full video above.)

Calgary’s Garnet Hathaway didn’t like the hit and proceeded to fight Trouba. Both players received major penalties for the scrap.

Trouba is facing an NHL mandatory one-game suspension.
