Winnipeg Jets forwards Patrik Laine, Mark Scheifele and Mason Appleton did not participate in pre-game warmups and appear unlikely to play tonight in Game 4 of the Jets’ Qualifier Series against the Calgary Flames.

The trio was ruled unfit to practice this morning, too.

Scheifele left the Jets’ Game 1 loss to the Flames early in the first period after a collision against the boards with Matthew Tkachuk. The Jets’ star centre was in visible pain immediately after the collision and had to be helped off the ice because he couldn’t put any weight on his left leg. Laine exited the game mid-way through the third period holding his left hand after a collision with Flames captain Mark Giordano and winger Sam Bennett.

Both Scheifele and Laine saw specialists last Sunday to further evaluate their injuries. Neither played in Game 2 or 3 of the series.

Jets head coach Paul Maurice said on Wednesday that Laine, Scheifele and Appleton have not been on the ice since they were injured.

Heading into tonight’s game, the Jets trail the Flames 2-1 in their best-of-five series.
