Jets lose Mark Scheifele to upper-body injury

Mark Scheifele gets taken down by Marc Staal and is later shown favoring his shoulder on the bench. He would later exit the game with an upper body injury.

Winnipeg Jets centre Mark Scheifele has left Tuesday’s game against the New York Rangers with an upper-body injury and will not return.

Scheifele collided with teammate Blake Wheeler and was later taken down by Rangers defenceman Marc Staal in the second period.

The 24-year-old appeared to be favouring his shoulder as he left the ice.

He has 21 goals and 51 points in 50 games this season.
