Jets’ Mathieu Perreault exits vs. Flyers due to upper-body injury

Winnipeg Jets forward Mathieu Perreault did not return to Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers due to an upper-body injury, the team announced.

No further details about the severity of the 31-year-old’s injury have been made available by the Jets at this time.

According to Ken Wiebe from The Athletic, head coach Paul Maurice said Perreault is moving around, but he will be rested and evaluated again tomorrow.

Perreault left the game at the 10:57 mark of the second period after a late hit from the Flyers’ Joel Farabee. He was slow to get up and, with assistance from his teammates, made it off the ice.

Farabee was given a game misconduct penalty on the play.

In 32 games with the Jets this season, Perreault has scored six goals and added six assists.
