Jets’ Nikolaj Ehlers out for Game 5 vs. Wild; Matt Hendricks returns

The Jets are heading back to Winnipeg on the verge of winning their first playoff series since the franchise returned to Manitoba, up 3-1 against the Wild.

Nikolaj Ehlers was an unexpected scratch for the Winnipeg Jets ahead of a Game 5 matchup with the Minnesota Wild.

The forward did not take part in warm-ups, but the reason he was absent is unclear at this time.

Centre Matt Hendricks did participate in warm-ups and was inserted back into the lineup. Hendricks had yet to suit up in the playoffs after dealing with a lower-body injury that caused him to miss the final 12 games of the regular season.

Hendricks is expected to centre the fourth line, while Bryan Little moves up from the third to the second line to replace Ehlers beside Paul Stastny and Patrik Laine.
