Jets’ Patrik Laine, Leafs’ William Nylander land on cover of NHL 19

Winnipeg Jets and Toronto Maple Leafs star forwards Patrik Laine and William Nylander are getting the EA Sports NHL cover treatment.

Laine and Nylander will grace the packaging of the forthcoming NHL 19 as exclusive cover stars for the Finnish and Swedish versions of the video game.

Both avid gamers themselves, Laine and Nylander are excited about the opportunity to be the annual hockey simulation’s cover.

“It is an honor to be on the Swedish cover of EA Sports NHL 19, it has been a childhood dream since I was young kid,” Nylander said in a statement.

“I play with [Nikolaj] Ehlers and other teammates almost every day,” added Laine. “It is really special to represent Finnish hockey culture in the cover of this legendary game.”

Back in June, Nashville Predators defenceman P.K. Subban was introduced as the game’s main cover star.

NHL 19 is slated for a Sept. 14 release date on Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
