The Winnipeg Jets have recalled veteran goaltender Steve Mason from his conditioning assignment with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.
He will rejoin the team in New York Monday.
Out with concussion-like symptoms since mid-January, Mason started for the Moose on Saturday recording 18 saves to pick up the win for Manitoba over the Iowa Wild.
The 29-year-old signed a two-year contract with the Jets in July. This season he’s sporting a 3-6-1 record with a 3.52 goals-against average and an .897 save percentage as starter Connor Hellebuyck’s primary backup.
The Jets play the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday.
