Zach Redmond was recalled by Winnipeg Jets Monday, just two months after suffering a potentially life-threatening and career-ending injury.

Redmond suffered a lacerated femoral artery in his right leg when he was cut by the skate of teammate Antti Miettinen during a Feb. 21 team practice.

After being cleared to fully participate in practice last week, the 24-year-old was assigned to the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League for a conditioning last Wednesday and played two games there, recording two assists.

The defenceman had four points in eight games before his injury; he was not in the Jets’ lineup Monday when they visited the Buffalo Sabres.
