Jets’ Tanev expected to return for Game 2 vs. Blues

Brandon Tanev is feeling good and is ready to return to the Winnipeg Jets lineup, and his teammates are pumped for the boost that he'd provide if he cracks Paul Maurice's Game 2 lineup card.

The Winnipeg Jets are expected to have forward Brandon Tanev back in the lineup ahead of Friday’s Game 2 matchup with the St. Louis Blues, according to Sportsnet’s Mark Spector.

Tanev has been out of the Jets lineup since Apr. 2 after suffering a hand injury against the Minnesota Wild.

The 27-year-old has been a key part of the Jets’ bottom six, leading the team in hits through the regular season with 278. Tanev’s hard-nosed game will be a welcome addition with the Blues holding a 1-0 lead in the series.

The puck drops for Game 2 at 9:30 p.m. ET/8:30 p.m. CT.
