Jimmy Howard pulled with lower-body injury

Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard has left Friday night’s game against the New York Islanders with a lower body injury.

The Red Wings said the move was precautionary. Howard left after the first period with the score 1-1. He made eight saves in his 20 minutes of action.
