Jonathan Drouin scratched after missing team meeting

Jonathan Drouin got right back into the swing of things as he assisted on the third goal for the Syracuse Crunch in his first game back following a dispute with the parent club Tampa Bay Lightning.

Jonathan Drouin will be scratched from Wednesday’s Syracuse Crunch game after missing a team meeting on Tuesday. Drouin said his absence was due to an alarm clock issue.

The team announced the news via Twitter.

According to Crunch general manager Julien BriseBois, Drouin “has been great” since returning to the team earlier this month and that this incident “doesn’t change how the organization feels about him.”

The 20-year-old forward was suspended indefinitely by the Tampa Bay Lightning organization in January after he refused to report to a Crunch game. Drouin’s holdout — and the subsequent suspension — ended when he returned to the Crunch on March 7.
