Justin Williams suffers lower-body injury, out vs. Bruins

Watch as Nicklas Backstrom makes a fantastic pass to spring T.J. Oshie on a breakaway and a goal that gives the Washington Capitals the lead against the Boston Bruins.

Washington Capitals forward Justin Williams is listed as day-to-day with a lower-body injury, the team announced. He was not in the lineup for Wednesday’s game against the Boston Bruins.

Williams, 35, had missed just one game over the past six seasons. Wednesday’s game was the first he’s missed as a Capital.

It was not immediately clear what caused the injury. Williams took part in the morning skate.

The right winger has 17 goals and 29 points in 50 games this season.
