Kessel family passes on hockey net via Craigslist

Between Phil, Amanda, and Blake, the Kessel family has scored more than its share of goals at the collegiate, professional, and minor-pro level.

It all started on a street in front of the family’s home, with a net parents Phil and Kathy Kessel have passed on to another family via Craigslist.

Matthew Wallock shared his story of acquiring the Kessel family net on imgur (via Reddit Hockey).

I saw an ad on Craigslist for a hockey net. Turns out, the Kessel family was moving and this was the net Amanda, Phil, and Blake used growing up. Ms. Kessel gave me two signed photos of Phil for my kids and even delivered it to my house when it didn’t fit in my Jeep.

That net has quite the hockey pedigree. Wallock also shared this interesting bit on Reddit: before the Kessels filled (you see what I did there?) it with pucks it had belonged to Bob Suter (brother of Gary, father of Ryan), who starred at the University of Wisconsin and was a member of the 1980 Miracle on Ice USA Olympic team.

If we see a Wallock land in the NHL in a few years then we’ll have some questions about what they’re putting in the twine with those Wisconsin road hockey nets.
