Kings’ Drew Doughty to have hearing for hit on William Carrier

Los Angeles Kings defenceman Drew Doughty will have a hearing with the NHL’s department of player safety on Thursday for an illegal check to the head of Vegas Golden Knights forward William Carrier.

The hit came late in the third period of Vegas’s Game 1 win.

Carrier was forced to leave the game with an upper-body injury and did not return.
