The Los Angeles Kings may have gotten some bad news on opening night.
Goaltender Jonathan Quick left the game at the end of the first period with a lower-body injury and did not return.
And on Thursday, the Kings said Quick’s status was week-to-week according to Lisa Dillman of the Los Angeles Times, which makes it sound as though he’ll be out for some time.
Newly acquired backup Jeff Zatkoff replaced Quick for the rest of Wednesday’s game.
Quick played in 68 games for the Kings last season, winning 40 games and earning a Vezina Trophy nomination.
