Nolan suspended one game for sucker punch

Kings forward Jordan Nolan, who has a bit of an reputation for his temper, threw a punch at unsuspecting Oilers defenceman Jesse Joensuu during a scrum.

Jordan Nolan was suspended one game for punching Edmonton Oilers forward Jesse Joensuu on Sunday night.

The Los Angeles Kings centre was assessed a double-minor penalty for roughing while Joensuu was issued a cross-checking penalty on the play.

The punch on Joensuu occurred at 19:56 of the second period where, during a small scrum, Nolan grabbed Joensuu and popped the unsuspecting Oiler with his glove still half on.

Los Angeles won the game over Edmonton 4-2.
