Kings sign Brooks Laich to two-way contract

The Los Angeles Kings have signed forward Brooks Laich to a one-year, two-way contract.

The 34-year-old played in 27 games with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies last season, scoring once and adding eight assists.

He joined the Kings on a tryout basis this off-season, and can provide depth up the middle with Jeff Carter now out indefinitely.

Laich has 134 goals and 331 points in 764 career NHL games, spent mostly with the Washington Capitals.

His two-way deal is worth $650,000 in the NHL and $50,000 in the AHL.
