The Los Angeles Kings have signed defenceman Markus Phillips of the three-year entry-level contract. The team did not disclose the financial details of the deal.
Phillips, 20, will play in the OHL Finals as a member of the Guelph Storm after helping his team eliminate the Saginaw Spirit in Game 7 Monday. In 62 OHL games with the Owen Sound Attack and Guelph, Phillips had five goals and 26 points. He has two goals so far in 18 playoff games.
A native of Port Perry, Ont., Phillips also represented Canada at the 2019 World Juniors.
The Kings originally selected Phillips in the fourth-round of the 2017 NHL Draft.
