The Los Angeles Kings have agreed to terms with forward Alex Turcotte on a three-year entry-level contract starting in the 2020-21 season, the team announced Wednesday.

Turcotte, the fifth overall pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, will join the team’s AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign, and is expected to practice with the team on Thursday.
The 19-year-old forward recently finished his freshman season at the University of Wisconsin, where he posted nine goals and 26 points in 29 games. He ranked third on the team in points, as well as tied for third in both goals and assists (17).
Turcotte’s .897 points-per-game total ranked second on his team, and sixth among college freshmen nationwide.
Before joining Wisconsin, Turcotte appeared in 95 games with the U.S. National Team Development Program, posting 45 goals and 125 points with his under-17 and under-18 teams.
The Island Lake, Ill., native has also represented Team USA on three occasions, playing in the IIHF World Junior Championship in 2020 and the IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship in 2018 and 2019.
