When Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev made his stunning kick save to rob Spain’s Iago Aspas in penalties Sunday at the World Cup it sent the hometown Russian fans in attendance at Luzhniki Stadium Moscow into pandemonium.
Including a quartet of some of the Russia’s most famous citizens.
In attendance to witness their national soccer team reach the quarterfinals was newly minted Los Angeles Kings forward Ilya Kovalchuk, Dallas Stars winger Alexander Radulov, Pittsburgh Penguins centre Evgeni Malkin and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Alex Ovechkin.

Now you’d think a quartet of super-talented athletes like these four would be a little more composed when watching other athletes, but a moment like Akinfeev’s save doesn’t happen too often and, based off Kovalchuk’s Instagram account, it looks like they celebrated just as much as everyone else inside the stadium.

The World Cup is truly a wondrous thing, with the power to unite people from all walks of life and to even turn multi-million-dollar star athletes into your typical run-of-the-mill losing-his-mind fan.
