Kypreos: Blues expected to bring back Ken Hitchcock

According to Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos, the St. Louis Blues are expected to bring back head coach Ken Hitchcock for another season.

Hitchcock coached the Blues this year on a one-year deal that was signed last May.

He’s coached St. Louis for the last five seasons but his return wasn’t guaranteed, though a playoff run to the Western Conference Final – their longest run in 15 years – appears to have been enough for general manager Doug Armstrong.

Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports that Hitchcock will be returning on a one-year deal, though there may be changes to the rest of his coaching staff.

In the five seasons with St. Louis since being hired on Nov. 6, 2011, Hitchcock has amassed a 224-103-36 regular-season record with the Blues, making the playoffs in each season and winning three playoff series.
