Mia Lack is as good at boosting her son’s confidence as she is at creating clever Twitter handles.
Before entering his sixth contest of the season with just one win under his belt, Vancouver Canucks netminder Eddie Lack reportedly woke up from a pregame nap to this message of encouragement:
The Swedish back up did not disappoint mama dearest, a.k.a @mammamialack.
He answered by blocking all 21 shots he faced to shut the door on the Pittsburgh Penguins (17-6-2).
This was Lack’s second win of the season and his fifth career shutout.
The victory was the first time the Canucks have beat the Penguins in Pittsburgh for the first time since 2008.
The Canucks (18-7-1), 11-4-0 on the road, have now won their third of four amid a seven-game road trip.
The Canucks continue on this Saturday against the Maple Leafs in Toronto this Saturday.
