Maxim Lapierre has been suspended five games for his hit on San Jose Sharks defenceman Dan Boyle.
The Blues forward was assessed a five-minute major and a game misconduct after he checked Boyle from behind in the first period of St Louis’ loss to the Sharks on Tuesday night. Boyle was taken off the ice on a stretcher.
According to NHL.com, Lapierre has already served one game of his suspension while waiting for an in-person hearing that took place Friday afternoon.
