Toronto Maple Leafs centre Auston Matthews was not on the ice for the team’s morning skate in Philadelphia ahead of their Tuesday night game against the Flyers.

Matthews missed Sunday night’s game against the Edmonton Oilers while dealing with an upper-body injury, marking the fifth time this season that the Leafs have had to play without the 2017 Calder Trophy winner. Toronto has gone 5-0 in his absence.

The extent of Matthews’ injury remains unknown as the the Leafs are notorious for keeping medical updates to themselves.

The 20-year-old got off to a torrid pace to start the season but injury problems have slowed him down a touch since. In 26 games, Matthews has 13 goals and 13 assists.
