Leafs’ Brian Boyle leaves game vs. Capitals with upper-body injury

Lars Eller and Kevin Shattenkirk both scored their 12th goals of the season and the Washington Capitals snapped the Toronto Maple Leafs four-game win streak.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Brian Boyle will not return to Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Capitals after suffering an upper-body injury.

It’s unclear when Boyle suffered the injury. The 32-year-old played 4:18 against the Capitals.

After the game, head coach Mike Babcock said Boyle would be re-evaluated on Wednesday.

Boyle was acquired by the Maple Leafs from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Feb. 27. In 71 games this season, he has 13 goals and 25 points.
