The Toronto Maple Leafs made four more cuts to the roster Sunday and among them was their No. 1 pick from the 2009 draft, forward Nazem Kadri.
Kadri will now rejoin the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.
The Leafs also assigned froward Christian Hanson and defenceman Jonas Frogren to the AHL’s Marlies, and they released defenceman Andy Rogers.
The Leafs next play Sunday night in Buffalo and additional roster moves are expected following the game.
They open the NHL regular season on October 1 when they host the Montreal Canadiens.
