Leafs’ Komarov helped off ice after colliding with Nylander

Leo Komarov had to leave the ice after being accidentally taken down by his Maple Leafs teammate William Nylander as they had a 3-1 lead on the Buffalo Sabres.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Leo Komarov had to be helped off the ice after colliding with teammate William Nylander during Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Komarov would not return to the game due to a lower-body injury.

The incident occurred with just under 12 minutes left in the second period. Nylander was skating backwards in the defensive zone and ran into his teammate.

Komarov stayed down for several moments and seemed to be favouring his left leg once he got up.
