Clarkson is expected to miss at least the next three games to have a bursa sac in his elbow removed. The 29-year-old suffered a nasty cut to his elbow in a game against Carolina on Jan. 9 that required 18 stitches to close. It’s not known whether the two injuries are related.
Bodie D'Amigo and Devane all discussed as potential call ups.

Clarkson has struggled this season after signing a seven-year, $36.75-million contract with the Leafs in July. In 36 games, Clarkson has three goals and eight points. He has missed 12 games this season due to a pair of suspensions.
Frazier McLaren has also been placed on IR with a bruised shoulder.
Leafs have now added David Clarkson to the injured reserve along with McLaren Bolland and Smith.
