The Toronto Maple Leafs have recalled goaltender Garret Sparks from the AHL on an emergency basis.
Leafs starter Frederik Andersen left Wednesday’s overtime win over the Dallas Stars with an upper-body injury.
The team has not yet provided an update regarding the severity of his injury.
Sparks has had a standout season with the Marlies, posting a l.78 goals-against average and .936 save percentage with the first-place club.
He was Toronto’s seventh-round pick in 2011.
The Leafs visit the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday.
