The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Sam Carrick to a three-year entry level contract, the club announced on Saturday.
Carrick played in all 68 games this season for the Ontario Hockey League’s Brampton Battalion and led the team in goals, assists, points, power-play goals and penalty minutes. The 20-year-old has also scored three goals and three assists in four playoff games for Brampton.
In 254 career OHL games with the Battalion, Carrick has registered 84 goals, 85 assists and 169 points along with 321 penalty minutes.
The Battalion captain represented the OHL in the 2011 Canada-Russia Subway Super Series this past November.
