Leafs’ William Nylander says he’ll make season debut Thursday
NHL Analyst Jeff Marek joined Jeff Blair to discuss the play of Kasperi Kapanen and how he has earned the right to play on a line with Auston Matthews and William Nylander when he returns.
Nylander signed a six-year contract with the Maple Leafs on Saturday after missing the beginning of the 2018-19 season due to a contract dispute. The 22-year-old is coming off back-to-back 61-point campaigns.
Toronto was able to weather the storm without the former first-round pick in the lineup, going 20-8-0 and sitting in second place in the Atlantic Division. The Leafs’ 40 points are good for second-most in the NHL.
