Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander says he will make his season debut Thursday against the Detroit Red Wings.
Nylander signed a six-year contract with the Maple Leafs on Saturday after missing the beginning of the 2018-19 season due to a contract dispute. The 22-year-old is coming off back-to-back 61-point campaigns.
Toronto was able to weather the storm without the former first-round pick in the lineup, going 20-8-0 and sitting in second place in the Atlantic Division. The Leafs’ 40 points are good for second-most in the NHL.
